An egg-cellent 🍳 update to our free range, organic eggs available to guests.

Our ducks hatched this past spring have begun laying, so your eggs will now have surprise duck 🦆 eggs 🥚 in each carton!

Duck egg facts:

👉🏾One duck egg has about 9 grams of protein, compared to 6 grams in a standard chicken egg. 💪
👉🏾 The yolks are packed with choline for brain health and antioxidants like lutein for your 👁️ eyes.
👉🏾 They contain high amounts of vitamin B12, vitamin D, iron, and selenium.

Labor Day weekend weekend had some bumps in the road,
with an area-wide power 💡 outage
for a good hour in 100 degree weather 🥵definitely not what we had planned.

Thankful to those brave & skilled 💪
linemen who came right out and worked in HIGH heat at HIGH heights to get the are power 💥 back up and running for our entire Historic District!

Thank you also to our wonderful guests who were more than understanding; though most were at the lake 🚤 💦 or river during
& weren’t even aware of the outage,
the ones that weren’t cooled off
in the pond. 🏊‍♀️
Waters were stocked on ice at the welcome center for guests to take freely to beat the heat.

Thank you to all the families who stayed with us this weekend. Safe travels home
& hope to see you back soon
as we fall head-first
into COOLER fall 🍂 🍁 weather!

As summer winds down and the fall rains have yet to start, it’s the PERFECT time of year to walk the creek and hunt for arrowheads.

A lot can change in three years time.

With over 600 hours put on the skid steer aiding in the progress, countless rocks 🪨 , logs 🪵 and limbs picked up by us & the kids,
our 2.5 acre pond build was a labor of inspiration, planning and love. 🥰

It feels so nice to now jump in 💦
kayak, fish 🐟 to our hearts content,
catch frogs 🐸 & feed our resident
turtle 🐢 off the dock.

When you camp 🏕️ with us at our little slice of heaven in the historic district
of Caplinger Mills don’t forget
to bring your floaties & fishing 🎣 poles!

to cool off in…….so long as your not a cat.
