A lot can change in three years time.

With over 600 hours put on the skid steer aiding in the progress, countless rocks 🪨 , logs 🪵 and limbs picked up by us & the kids,
our 2.5 acre pond build was a labor of inspiration, planning and love. 🥰

It feels so nice to now jump in 💦
kayak, fish 🐟 to our hearts content,
catch frogs 🐸 & feed our resident
turtle 🐢 off the dock.

to cool off in…….so long as your not a cat.

While in our historic district it’s an absolute MUST to visit the Caplinger Mills Bridge.

Whether you’re searching for a fishing 🎣 hot-spot, a sandbar for the kids to play on or a scenic hike, it never disappoints.

Named after local mill proprietor Samuel Caplinger, our historic district was settled in 1849. This was the first iron bridge built in the county, for the cost of $3,900 in 1895.🤯

Once being home to a grist mill site & powerhouse generating hydroelectricity that supplied power to the area along with Humansville & Flemington, four fires 🔥 to the milling buildings on the site led to it’s demise over the years. One of those fires during the Civil War by Shelby’s raiders and the last in 1953.

Though the power plant and mill are no longer in service, it’s still a gem 💎 of Stockton and Cedar County.

Grab your water shoes & fishing gear 🐟
And get ready for a day exploring that will tucker out the whole crew.
