⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Kaitlin Holm — Stayed at Cattail Cabin in August

"We've had a great experience staying at these cabins and have returned multiple times over the past four years! It's set up really well for two families—four adults and four kids—with plenty of space for everyone. The kids especially love sleeping in the loft.

We love being right on the lake and really appreciate having kayaks and other lake toys available to use. On our most recent visit in august 2026, we also had great luck fishing, catching multiple good-sized bass right off the dock!

It's also a short drive into Hayward for a fun day in town, including the always-popular candy shop. A wonderful cabin experience and a place we look forward to returning to!"

"This cabin rental has been the best experience I have ever had. From great customer service to an absolutely beautiful, clean cabin with so much room for a big group. We enjoyed the kayaks, quiet small lake, campfires every night with plenty of seating. Extremely comfortable beds, with clean white crisp sheets and fluffy pillows. It was the first time I didn't miss my own bed! Hoping to make this an annual vacation spot. Thank you so much O'Connell Cabin Co for making my 60th birthday celebration the perfect spot to rent with girlfriends. Memories made!"

"This is our 2nd time staying at this cabin and this trip was even better than the first! The addition of the lilypad lake float and the fishing boat with electric trolling motor were especially appreciated! We used both of these new amenities daily. We had perfect weather during our stay so we were outside nearly the entire time kayaking, relaxing on the dock and sandy beach area, floating in the lake with the life jackets that were provided and fishing. The cabin really has everything you'd need for a relaxing lake getaway. We used the Blackstone grill daily, cooking most of our meals on it! Highly recommend this place for families with kids of all ages."

"My kids and grandkids enjoyed our family vacation at Cattail Chalet. We all felt very comfortable in the cabin enjoyed the surroundings. The canoe was easy and fun to use. We had s'mores around the campfire. Great time!"

"The cabin was beautiful and accommodated our group well. The kitchen was well stocked with items we needed for cooking, and we really enjoyed cooking on the Blackstone grill! The lake view from the cabin, deck, and yard was amazing and so peaceful. We really enjoyed using the paddle boat, canoe, and fire ring; wonderful amenities! Bringing our dogs was great, too; much nicer than having to board them at a kennel. I highly recommend this all around great place to stay."
