We’re deep cleaning rooms, adding fresh linens, touching up paint, and bringing in some new pieces of furniture at ! This is the time of year that we evaluate our spaces and make sure things are ready for the busy season ahead. Nothing is ever totally “done” here, and that’s as it should be! We love creating (and recreating!) the atmosphere at The Carriage House so that guests can feel calm, cozy, and inspired when they visit. One thing that never changes? Our warm hospitality!

This August we celebrated 8 years at The Carriage House at Strasburg. I clearly remember the moment we were handed the keys to the neglected properly…and began checking guests in the next morning (while feverishly beginning renovations)!

The heartbeat of this business is people. Those who work with us, and those who make us their “home away from home in Lancaster County.” We value our team of owners, a group of couples (5 of us in total!), who are lifelong friends. We’re grateful for the staff who show up daily to keep things clean, greet guests, and maintain the rhythms required to create a relaxing stay (👏🏻👏🏻 to our manager Tim DuBoe, Nikki Zehr, and our incredible team of hospitality staff). And of course, we are honored by each guest who chooses to stay with us at TCH while visiting Strasburg. Thank you!

Our team has Lancaster County roots that run deep, and there’s no doubt that we love this place. It’s a unique mix of old and new, where one can both admire the simple beauty of the surrounding farmland and enjoy the urban vibe of Lancaster City. “We stayed recently at The Carriage House and thought the room was cozy and did not seem like a hotel at all. Loved the decor and how clean it was! We loved walking over to Speckled Hen for breakfast. It was wonderful coffee and breakfast!”

Did you know that you get a breakfast voucher to dine at Speckled Hen Coffee, located right across the street from The Carriage House, when you stay with us?

Being located near an artisanal, locally-owned coffee shop was a big part of why we purchased the motel in the first place! We knew we didn’t want to offer guests a boring, stale continental breakfast. Guests frequently comment on how much they enjoyed the coffee, food, and service they received . If you’ve stayed with us, comment below on one of your favorite items from the Speckled Hen menu!
