Just a short note to share a few changes at Baldwin House. This will be my final post as owner of Baldwin House. On Monday, September 8th, the ownership of Baldwin House changed hands. I have sold the house to a gentleman that will continue offering this historic home in Streator as an airbnb property.
I have truly enjoyed being hostess to so many guests that have traveled to Streator for many different reasons and chose to stay at my Baldwin House. I have made many friends and met many people from various walks of life. Brides, new babies, new lives and those gone from us have been honored, celebrated and remembered at Baldwin House by their families and friends. It has been my honor to offer a "home away from home" to those seeking comfort and a warm family like feel when away from their own home.
I have been blessed to have hosted guests from 5 continents and faraway countries including Germany, China, Korea, Argentina, Canada, Central America, England, Netherlands, Hawaii to name a few.
I am grateful for those who have returned often, originally arriving as strangers and leaving as friends. What a joy! I loved meeting each an every one of you, getting to know a little bit about you and being a part of your lives for a few moments.
So in closing, thank you for choosing Baldwin House, for visiting Streator, for sharing yourselves with our city and experiencing our small town lifestyle for a little while. Sincerely, Toni Pettit
