Good news is we have been awarded a $100,000 grant! Bad news is the new expenses to rebuild the exterior after waiting 18 months and paying for the exterior work to get done is an additional $250k. This was not in our original budget. We actually looked into a tear down price for perspective and that would be roughly $130k. We are not going to tear down the building! Please pray we are able to continue to find solutions to the problems that arrise with our project. This is a project that I wanted to do knowing it would be hard (I didn't know it would be this hard 😅) I want to see our dream come to life. I'm not afraid to try something new. I'm dying to open our doors to all the people intrested in the history of the bank, Bonnie and Clyde, and want to unwind with a glass wine and slice of pie! The downstairs will be Ruthie's Parlor Pie and Wine Bar and upstairs with be an Airbnb called Bonnie and Clyde Hideout. Please like and share our page to follow along on this wild ride!

Iowa blizzards have come through, but that hasn't slowed down our construction team! Through the renovation, they found antique deposit books and bank checks from First National Bank Stuart dated as far back as the 1890's. Many of these items were well preserved hidden behind the plaster walls in the upstairs apartment. The downstairs revealed some pretty unique designs on the ceiling that had been covered by a drop ceiling for years. Once we have everything open and cleared out, we will be working with our team on layout and design. Our vision is coming alive day by day!

Happy New Year friends! The moment we have been waiting for has come and gone. We were on a waiting list for approximately 18 months. Atlas was kind enough to bump us up after we were on the news and the pressure to fix the building was mounting. We had crumbling and cracks all over the building and now have a solid structure!!! 🤩 We are so thankful for Dustin and his crew at Atlas Masonry for their expertise and professionalism and punctuality. Highly recommend!

Here are some before pictures of the exterior and interior of the bank and the upstairs apartment that were taken today. We are freaking out with excitement right now. It feels like Christmas and each project done is like opening a new gift. Since everything is going to be getting done there will be a lot of gifts to share. I will be going to bed with a grateful heart to know how much has gone into getting us to this point. We live in a community of people that are cheering us on and I won't let them down. Goodnight for now and we'll share more tomorrow. 😴

The lift is here! Work to start Monday November 6th, 2023! My husband and I purchased the 1877 building/ bank that was robbed by Bonnie and Clyde. We closed on the building in March, 2022 and this is the moment we have been waiting for! We are excited to share pictures and videos of the project. Upstairs is going to be the luxury one bedroom apartment called Bonnie and Clyde Hideout and downstairs will be Ruthie's Pie and Wine Bar. Ruthie's is named after my Grandmother Ruth that passed away at the age of 28.

We got our merch in to test out what ones we like! I love them so much! We are excited to share we have construction set to start November 5th, 2023! We have plenty of time to work out every detail of making this dream a reality. I’m excited to share the progress, the process and everything involved that seems interesting 🤩

May 23rd is the anniversary of Bonnie and Clyde’s death. The end of their trail. A few months ago I was able to go see the Bonnie and Clyde death car just outside Las Vegas, NV. Their story is a wild one!

Race day! Bonnie and Clyde fun run was a blast! Mason got first place for the 1 mile and Katelyn got second place for the 1 mile. We had fun getting to know people in the community and having our doors open to view the building! Cora (age 5) ran with me and sometimes she needed a break so I gave her a piggyback ride and she said “Mommy, I’m like you backpack”! Dave ran the 1 mile when we got back and all the kids cheered on their Daddy at the finish line. 🏃‍♀️ 🏃
