One of my “Must stops” in Meadows of Dan, and should be yours, too!
When I saw this photo of my Bosslady that my Lovely Beth took, I knew immediately that I wanted to use it in a post about our girl, Leslie. It began over 20 years ago, with just books and yarn... the Greenberry House. Just over 7 years ago, Leslie opened up the shop on Concord Road, Poppy's at Meadows of Dan 💛 We expanded to Alpaca clothing, gloves, scarves, and hats, gifts, antiques, jewelry, and Christmas gifts and decor. We have many local artisans at the shop, too. And they're just as talented as my Bosslady! If you're lucky enough to be a part of her village, well... you have an amazing mountain woman in your corner. She knits, crochets (not as often), spins, dyes, and keeps us afloat. But it's also the things she does for everyone else. Her Mom, church community, and her friends...they all tend to come before herself. Personally... I wouldn't trade her for the world. She's been like a big sister to me. Her Momma was my babysitter when I was knee high to a grasshopper, so we've been a part of each other's lives for a very long time.
I may be a bit biased, but I do have an IOU sheet behind the counter that sometimes gets pretty long, so if you haven't been to see us lately or ever? Whatcha waiting on?
