Visit scenic Southern Door County

I decided to leave the big corporate work world and take ownership of this little mom and pop motel and campground in Sturgeon Bay, Southern Door County November 2016. What most people do not know is that this property has been in business since 1994 and the buildings were actually moved from the bluffs of Bailey’s Harbor to Sturgeon Bay (in 1994) in 4 pieces during the night time hours. The motel in Bailey’s Harbor was named The Sands and was originally built in the 60’s. We have replaced a few toilets and sure enough some are stamped the year 1962, wow, that is even before I was born!!

Our mission is to keep the business running, making our guests feel welcome and comfortable while slowing making improvements. As we all know, Rome wasn't built overnight.

Being that the property is located near a very popular fishing destination, our primary customers are fishermen. However, we would like to attract all to our property. We are located in the country, it’s quiet and peaceful here but yet not too far from touring northern Door County. All are welcome.

In our location, we are 1/2 mile from the waters of Little Sturgeon Bay and the roads here allow ATVs to travel to area businesses and directly to the water. There are numerous public boat launches, including Carmody Park Marina.
