It is with deep sorrow that we report the passing of our beloved Brother, Worshipful Billy Wayne Avery, Past Master.
Brother Avery was born on November 8, 1936, in Atlanta, Georgia, and was called from labor on February 27, 2026, at the age of 89.
He was Initiated an Entered Apprentice on July 11, 1983; Passed to the Degree of Fellowcraft on October 8, 1983; and Raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason on November 19, 1983, all in Montgomery Lodge No. 31, F. & A.M., in the State of Georgia. For forty-two years, he walked uprightly as a Master Mason, exemplifying the principles of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth.
Worshipful Brother Avery was a faithful member of Montgomery Lodge No. 31 and Robertsdale Lodge No. 821. His dedication to the Craft was evident in both word and deed. He served Robertsdale Lodge with honor and distinction as Worshipful Master from 2016 through 2017, guiding the Lodge with steady leadership, quiet strength, and unwavering commitment.
Throughout his Masonic journey, Brother Avery demonstrated the virtues of our ancient and honorable Fraternity. He was a pillar of support, a trusted counselor, and a true friend and Brother to all who labored beside him.
As we bow our heads in solemn remembrance, we are reminded that while his earthly labors have ceased, his legacy endures in the hearts of the Brethren and in the continued work of the Lodges he so faithfully served.
May the Grand Architect of the Universe grant him eternal rest in that House not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
Fraternally,
Brian P. McDonald, PM
Lodge Secretary
Robertsdale Lodge No. 821, F&AM
