So much fun with today’s skeleton display! Bobbie and Leigh did a great job with this one. For all that came by and spent time trying to figure them all out, the answers are attached!

Willie Mae (Bill) Spivey Limehouse departed this life on September 14, 2025. Born at home in Badham, SC on March 6, 1935, to William Thomas (Tom) Spivey and Sadie Mae Varn Spivey, she was the second of three daughters. Throughout her long and full life, she endured many hardships but was successful in anything she set her mind to—high school basketball, nursing, business owner, etc. No task was beneath her, no detail too small. Though personally private, she was a dedicated friend to those in need and a mentor to those seeking guidance. But what she really excelled at was being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Firm but fair, strict but loving, she was the rock upon which her family was built. No number of words can ever begin to describe her nor convey the loss we feel; she was and will forever be loved by us. We are, however, grateful for the time we had with her, and we take comfort in the conclusion of her earthly struggles. Unwavering in her faith, her spirit is finally free.

She was predeceased by her parents; her sister, Leila Spivey Jumper; husband, Thomas C. (T.C.) Limehouse; and great-grandson, Thomas Ashley Limehouse, III. She is survived by her sister Bonnie Spivey Saunders (Lowell); sons Thomas (Tom) Ashley Limehouse (Rebecca Harper) and William (Will) Spivey Limehouse; grandchildren Thomas Ashley Limehouse, Jr. (Emily), Sallie Mae Love Limehouse, and Nora Elizabeth Limehouse; and great-grandchildren Louise, John Forrest, and Britton Limehouse.

We would like to thank her personal caregivers, as well as the nurses at MUSC, for their service and compassion. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Old White Meeting House & Cemetery, 10548 Dorchester Road, Summerville, SC 29485. We request that those planning to attend please wear colorful clothing as we celebrate her life.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Thomas Ashley Limehouse, III Memorial Endowment, MUSC Children’s Hospital Fund (59 Bee Street, MSC 201, Charleston, SC 29425).
