Winding down the end of another season at Tillys place. We hope that all the families that came felt rested fortified and left with a little more joy in their hearts. This sweet family left us a beautiful little coloring sheet to say thank you. It made my heart happy this morning when I read it. ❤️

The mailbox is forever enchanting.

How incredible and rare to see snowfall in this location… the lonely mailbox in the middle of nowhere that started it all! While also a beacon of hope, the Kindred Spirit Mailbox on Bird Island in North Carolina is what inspired my 2018 novel, .

Over the decades it’s been a unique local landmark that invites visitors to leave handwritten notes, thoughts, dreams, and reflections inside, a repository of deeply personal messages symbolizing love, loss, hope, and connection.
