Surf City is home to The Leatherback Turtle …

Get to know the Leatherback sea turtle, the largest sea turtle in the world!

✅ They can dive up to 4,000 feet deep. Deeper than any other sea turtle.
✅ Their front flippers are huge (the biggest in proportion among sea turtles) and lack claws!
✅ They're the most migratory sea turtle species, swimming across entire oceans!
❌ Unlike others, they don’t have a hard shell. It's leathery and flexible (even as hatchlings).
❌ They don’t eat fish or seaweed. They love jellyfish!
