Dear Country Club Villas Owners and Guests,

As you may be aware, the forecast, starting on Saturday, is showing extreme cold weather with possible snowfall this weekend and cold weather through next Friday with low temperatures in the lower to mid-20s, and the high temperatures in the low 30s to low 40s. These temperatures for this long duration are not normal for our area.

If you have a reservation scheduled this weekend please call ahead to confirm your arrival. In the event our office closes due to the weather you can reach us before 2pm tomorrow to get instructions for Check In.

If you are here please use extra caution when traveling or walking around the property.

Below-normal temperatures in the South can catch us off guard, but a few proactive steps can greatly reduce the risk of frozen (and burst) pipes:

During the Freeze
• Let faucets drip: A slow drip from both hot and cold taps (especially those on exterior walls) keeps water moving and relieves pressure.
• Open cabinet doors: This lets warm air circulate around pipes under sinks.
• Keep the heat on: Maintain indoor temps no less than 58 degrees.

If a Pipe Freezes
• Turn off the water immediately.
• Thaw gently using a hair dryer, heating pad, or warm towels—never an open flame.
• Start thawing near the faucet and work toward the frozen section.

Forecasts for winter precipitation are variable, with sleet, freezing rain, or rain all possible. Please continue to follow local news channels for current weather updates.

Never thought I’d be glad to see a Category 5 hurricane spinning in the Atlantic, but here we are. Humberto’s sheer strength is actually working in our favor—its influence will stall Imelda and pull it east, away from the Southeast coast early next week. If that trend holds, the Carolinas would be spared from any significant impacts.

Dear Country Club Villas Owners and Guests,

We are watching the tropics. Please see below an alert we received:

“Tropical Storm Humberto is currently located several hundred miles east-northeast of the Northern Leeward Islands, moving northwest at 10 mph with maximum sustained winds near 45 mph. Humberto is expected to gradually strengthen over the next few days, reaching major hurricane status by Monday morning. At this time, no direct impacts to our area are anticipated.

Invest 94L (soon-to-be Imelda) remains our primary concern. Although this system has not yet officially developed, the NHC now gives it a high (90%) chance of formation. Overnight model guidance has shifted the track farther west, which increases the likelihood of impacts along the South Carolina coast. While it is still too early to determine the exact timing and extent of impacts, confidence is growing that our area could experience effects from a tropical storm or potentially a Category 1 hurricane early next week. Given the short timeline for development, this scenario may necessitate the rapid activation of emergency action plans, even before the system is officially formed.

We will continue to closely monitor Invest 94L throughout the day. While there are no immediate threats currently, I encourage everyone to closely monitor forecast updates and take this opportunity to review your personal and professional emergency plans.”

We will continue to monitor and implement our emergency planning.

If the trajectory remains the same our maintenance team will be securing the property immediately and starting on Saturday the pool as our area could start seeing the effects possibly on Monday.

***In preparation for the storm, it is a good time to secure your balcony furniture.

We will continue to monitor and send another update soon.

If you are not local, you can keep up to date by clicking on the following local news station at https://wpde.com/ or by watching the Weather Channel.

Best Regards your CCV team.
