We have been fortunate enough to be part of the Sutherland community and grateful to experience our 4th Sutherland Labor Day Parade. This year The Pear Tree House has witnessed its 129th Labor Day celebration, a holiday that only predates the house by 3 years and was established by President Grover Cleveland.

This is a perfect example of what our rural main streets need. Having an organized plan and the people with grit and drive to revitalize our rural downtowns, this is critical to real progress and preserving our heritage. We have to keep the brick on main street people! Our downtowns don't need craters, they need character.
