North Carolina’s “No Hike” Waterfalls Road Trip takes you to 10 of the prettiest waterfalls in western North Carolina, and you don’t have to hike to see them. Every stop on this route is either right off the road or just a very short, flat walk from where you park, so you can enjoy each waterfall without any hard effort. It’s an easy way to see big scenery in a short amount of time. The drive also passes through cozy mountain towns where you can stop for lunch, walk through small shops, or sit down for a drink. Highlights include Sliding Rock, a smooth natural rock slide with simple access; Looking Glass Falls, one of the most photographed waterfalls in the state; Whitewater Falls, the tallest waterfall east of the Rocky Mountains; and Bridal Veil Falls, where you once could actually drive your car behind the falling water.
