A note from the Chamber ...

The Jackson County Chamber of Commerce invites the community to participate in Dillsboro Friends Night Out, Thursday, April 30, a special evening dedicated to supporting local businesses and celebrating the charm and creativity of downtown Dillsboro.

From 2 to 8 p.m., shoppers are encouraged to visit Dillsboro Friends Night Out businesses, make purchases, and bring their receipts to Chamber staff (who will be set up at Enloe House and Wine Bar that evening) for a chance to win exciting prizes.

Shoppers who spend at least $25 during the event will be eligible to receive an exclusive Dillsboro tote bag. In addition, for every $25 spent at Dillsboro businesses, participants will receive one entry into the drawing for the “Frenzy,” a prize package totaling $325 in gift cards from local Chamber member businesses. The more you shop, the more chances you have to win.

Dillsboro Friends Night Out is designed to bring the community together while encouraging residents and visitors to explore the town’s unique shops, galleries, restaurants, and artisan businesses, discover new favorites, and enjoy an evening of community connection.

“Friends Night Out is one of those events that reminds us why Jackson County is so special,” said Todd Vinyard, Executive Director of the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce. “Every purchase helps strengthen a local business, support a neighbor, and keep our community thriving. We’re excited to celebrate the people and places that make Dillsboro such a welcoming and vibrant destination.”

Our rental house has a new refrigerator! 🙌
We are so pleased with this upgrade. Plenty of space for weekly groceries and cookout platters.
The *other refrigerator was moved to the basement for overflow items or easy access to the outside fire pit.

We know you’ll like the new design, top refrigerator and bottom freezer- so convenient.

The mountain here shows spring in many ways. The woods are dotted with dogwoods this time of year. The NC state flower is a welcome sight.

In Cherokee, North Carolina, the Cherokee Bears Project brings the town to life with 20 full-size bear statues painted by local Tribal artists and set at important spots throughout the area. These bears reflect how important they have been in Cherokee culture for many years. Each one is different, with designs that show Cherokee history, old stories, and scenes from nature. No two look alike. Every bear also has a plaque that lists the artist and explains the meaning behind the artwork. You can take your time and explore the town by car or on foot, stopping at each bear along the way. It’s an easy, self-guided way to see Cherokee while learning something real about the culture and stories tied to the land near the Great Smoky Mountains.

Spring starts in the valley and day by day the trees at the higher elevations get their leaves too. 🍃 💚
