⚠️ A new aquatic invasive species is knocking on Tahoe’s door.

Golden mussels have been detected in numerous California waterways, and boats carrying golden mussels have been intercepted at inspection stations before launching in Lake Tahoe — as recently as this week!

If they get in, these tiny invaders could permanently impact Tahoe’s clarity, ecosystem, recreation, and infrastructure.

The best defense is prevention. Before entering Lake Tahoe, always Clean, Drain and Dry your boat, kayak, floaties, and any other gear. Every time.
