We are so thankful to the FASTer Way to Fat Loss community that came together to raise $150,000 for ACS. Funds raised will make a difference in the lives of cancer patients and their families. Some members also spent the morning serving breakfast to cancer patients and their caregivers at the Hope Lodge as part of their Service Project Day.

This past Saturday (10/26/2024) our team participated in the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. We were honored to participate in the 3-mile walk to end breast cancer and walk amongst courageous breast cancer survivors and thrivers. We also would like to thank everyone that donated to our team, helping us surpass our goal and raise $1,255. This money will help the American Cancer Society end breast cancer by funding research, advocacy, and support programs. A huge thank you to Kim for joining us at Hope Lodge on Tuesday night (10/22/2024)! Her insightful presentation about the resources available through the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was very informative for our guests. LLS is a nonprofit dedicated to curing blood cancers by investing in research, education and support, and driving policy changes. We also loved the delicious Chipotle dinner she brought for everyone. Thank you, Kim, for your generosity and for making a difference in our community!

🥰Thank you to the Radiation Oncology Nurses at Moffitt! On September 19, 2024, they brought a wonderful dinner for our guests and their caregivers, who enjoyed the opportunity to see the nurses they love outside of treatment. We cannot thank them enough for all that they do!🥰

Team Tampa (the staff, volunteers and supporters associated with ACS Hope Lodge Tampa) are volunteering to participate in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Event Presented by Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on 26th of October 2024 @ Raymond James Stadium! Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is a celebration of courage and hope, a movement uniting community to end breast cancer as we know it, for everyone. The shirts will be for our team to represent Team Tampa, the fight agents breast cancer and advocate for the service ACS Hope Lodge provides to patient undergoing cancer treatment, and the proceeds from the T-shirts will go towards the Making Strides campaign. Hope Lodge Coordinators, Ellie and Tomas, had the opportunity to represent us at the weekly USF Bull’s Market, an event dedicated to showcasing student organizations and opportunities on campus. This event, held every Wednesday, was a fantastic chance for us to spread the word about the impact of Hope Lodge and the crucial role volunteers play in our operations.
Throughout the day, Ellie and Tomas connected with 44 individuals interested in learning more about how they can make a difference in the lives of cancer patients. We're excited about the potential new volunteers who could join our community, helping Hope Lodge with its daily operations, and aiding in our mission to support our guests during their treatment journey. A big thank you to everyone who stopped by our table!

You can change someone’s life by giving as little as one hour of your time each week. The American Cancer Society is recruiting volunteer drivers for its Road to Recovery program, which provides patients with free rides to and from cancer-related treatment when they do not have a ride or are unable to drive themselves. The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan affiliate of ACS that advocates for cancer-related policies at federal, state, and local levels. They fight to improve access to prevention, early detection, treatment, and care in order to fight for a world without cancer. ACS CAN came into the Hope Lodge on Thursday, August 15th for a Lights of Hope Display and Advocacy Night.
