What is your favorite summer treat? Homemade Ice Cream

What are you looking forward to this summer? I love the joy of summer workshop season: the friendships, “sparks” and laughter while learning new skills.

What was your favorite 4-H project? As a 4-Her, my favorite was the Favorite Food R***e. As an adult, I still do quilting and horticulture for fun.

Did you ever have a 4-H flop? If so, what happened and what did you learn? Oh, definitely! I got a red or white ribbon on a pair of stilts that I made with my dad in the woodworking project. We hadn’t sanded and my ribbon showed it. I learned two things: 1. Sanding is an important step that should not be missed. 2. You should learn woodworking from someone who actually likes woodworking. Sorry, dad!

What is one 4-H memory you will treasure? If only one, probably Citizenship Washington Focus, but also trips to PASE with my livestock quiz bowl team, that first rosette, taking pigs to the wash racks at fair and fair friends.
