Oklo, a private nuclear firm with strong ties to the artificial intelligence industry, plans to build a nuclear fuel recycling facility in Oak Ridge.
The company’s local investment should total $1.68 billion and create about 800 jobs. The news broke Sept. 4 in what was the largest job creation announcement in Roane County history,

The Tennessee Valley Authority will generate electricity for the plant. The utility, the U.S.’ largest public power provider, also will work with Oklo on fuel recycling capability.
