Sometimes the best memories aren't made on a screen.

At Patt's Place, we love watching kids do what kids were meant to doβ€”explore, discover, fish, catch frogs, follow rabbit trails, climb creek banks, and use their imagination.

No flashing lights. No crowded attractions. Just fresh air, open spaces, wildlife, and the freedom to turn an ordinary afternoon into an adventure.

The best part? They usually don't even realize they've left their screens behind.

This is the kind of childhood we love seeing at Patt's Place.

Listen closely.

No traffic.
No sirens.
No crowds.

Just the sound of flowing water and nature doing what it has done for generations.

Whether you're fishing, floating, kayaking, paddleboarding, or simply sitting along the bank, Big River has a way of making you slow down and appreciate the simple things.

This is one of our favorite places to spend time, and one of the many reasons we love this place.

Not every campsite comes with a view like this.

Rolling hills, a fishing pond, full-hookup RV sites, and plenty of room to unwind.

Mornings start with birds singing, evenings end around the campfire, and in between is nothing but peace, quiet, and nature.

Sometimes the best part of camping is simply slowing down and enjoying the view.

Room to breathe.

That's one of the things that makes Patt's Place different.

Spacious RV sites, peaceful surroundings, and ongoing improvements throughout the property.

We recently finished another landscaping project and we're excited to see everything coming together.

This is what camping is supposed to feel like.

A couple chairs.

A peaceful pond.

Good company.

No hurry.

Just simple.

🎸 I wasn't even planning to take a picture.

I just happened to look across the campground and saw this.

A camper. A guitar. A quiet evening.

No rushing. No traffic. No deadlines.
No notifications demanding attention.

Just a person enjoying the moment.

Somewhere along the way, a lot of us forgot what life feels like when we're not constantly running from one thing to the next.

Maybe that's why I love this place so much.

It's not about the RV. It's not about the campsite.

It's about slowing down long enough to remember what peace feels like.

And honestly, I think more people need that.

🌿 The pond is putting on quite a show this week.

The pickerel rush is in full bloom, adding a splash of purple around the water and attracting all kinds of wildlife.

One of our favorite things about Patt's Place is watching the seasons change. Every week brings something new to enjoy, whether it's blooming flowers, wildlife sightings, beautiful sunsets, or simply a quiet place to relax.

What's your favorite thing about spending time outdoors?

Cloudy skies don't stop the fish from feeding.

Our 1-acre catch-and-release catfish pond is a favorite spot for guests at Patt's Place. And when you're ready for a different fishing experience, the Big River runs right through our property.

From catfish and bass to bluegill and sunfish, there are plenty of opportunities to spend the day on the water.

Some days aren't meant for rushing around. They're meant for casting a line, listening to nature, and enjoying the simple things.

As the day winds down at Patt's Place, the pond grows quiet, the wildlife begins to stir, and another peaceful evening settles over the campground.

One of the things I love most about this place is that we are guests here too.

The deer, geese, frogs, owls, woodpeckers, rabbits, and countless other creatures called this land home long before we arrived. We aren't here to disturb them. We're here to enjoy the beauty of sharing the space with them.

There's something special about ending the day under the moonlight, listening to the sounds of nature, and feeling completely at peace.

No crowds.
No noise.
No rush.

Just a safe, quiet place to unwind and reconnect with the world around you.

Goodnight from Patt's Place. πŸŒ™

While waiting for a guest to arrive this evening, I sat quietly by the pond and was lucky enough to capture a woodpecker going about its day.

It reminded me of something.

The world is full of incredible things happening around us every single day. Birds building nests. Wildlife raising their young. The wind moving through the trees. Sunrises and sunsets painting the sky.

Most of us are so busy worrying about tomorrow, replaying yesterday, or staring at a screen that we miss it.

Sometimes the best thing you can do is slow down, take a deep breath, and simply be still.

Listen to the sounds around you.
Feel the breeze.
Watch the wildlife.
Notice the life all around you.

There is so much beauty in this world if we take the time to see it.

This little visitor was a good reminder.

Nature doesn't hurry, yet somehow it accomplishes everything.
