Moro Rock didn't always have the trail you see today. The first steps were actually made of wood and were built in 1917. Because the Giant Forest area receives snow in the winter the wooden steps soon proved to be too fragile and expensive to maintain. During the summer of 1931, the new steps were built of concrete and granite masonry. Today Moro Rock remains one of the most popular features of Sequoia National Park. Have you climbed to the top?
