The Mission of Camp Huawni is to provide a second home where kids experience personal growth through simple fun, rich tradition, true friendships forged in love, while surrounded by nature. unselor's face! We actually encourage these and 50 plus other activities- there's always something to do! What are you looking for in a Camp for the summer months? Whether you are in search of a weekly or a monthly summer camp program, we've got you covered. Camp Huawni is a one-of-a-kind Texas camp - that is why we pride ourselves on our unique summer camp program for boys and girls. We focus on relationships and the change boys and girls see after leaving our summer camp is proof that the Camp Huawni experience is extraordinary. If you are looking for a summer camp in Texas, where a kid can truly be a kid, then Camp Huawni is the place for you. You might have searched for other Texas summer camps, but rest assured, Camp Huawni is very unique - you have to witness it for yourself to understand what we mean. 'Fun' and 'play' is a huge part of our camp for boys and girls, but it's not the only part. Camp Huawni has been helping with the positive development of youth since 1965 by instilling our five core values year after year. Ever wish you had an older brother or sister who included you in everything and who really thought it was cool to hang out with you? Well, that's what Huawni is like- your counselors are your best friends and spend all their time with you. Play Outdoors
Our playground is the Piney Woods of East Texas! Where else can you go to bed and hear the crickets and frogs singing underneath big bright stars you can actually see? It's majestic and a time when we can truly enjoy God's creation. Time Stops & Worries Disappear
Camp Huawni is a throwback to a simpler time and place. It's a one to six week break from real life and you don't have any worries here. This is something you can't fully appreciate until you come to Camp and catch the Huawni Magic. Don't worry, you'll see soon enough! Tribal Competition
Regardless of your athletic ability, you'll have an important role to play as your team competes throughout Camp for the Golden Pine Cone (2 week sessions only). Be it cheerleader, star athlete, or encourager, you will form a special bond with your tribal competition tribe. These memories last a lifetime.

The Camp Huawni family is saddened by the passing of former camper and counselor Cole Petty.

Cole was part of the Huawni family for more than a decade, attending as a camper throughout the 1980s and later serving as a counselor in the early to mid-1990s. He loved camp and was part of a family whose connection to Huawni spans generations, dating back to the camp’s earliest days.

We are thankful for Cole’s life and the memories he leaves behind. Our hearts are with the Petty family, and we continue to keep them in our thoughts and prayers.

Born on October 24, 1973, in Murfreesboro TN, he was the child of Vicki and Gary Lynn Petty. He attended Middle Tennessee Christian School, graduated from Riverdale High School then attended Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) and Texas Christian University (TCU).  He was a camper and camp cou...
