🍂 We’ve officially entered the “-ber” months… and that usually means something VERY special at Simmons-Bond Inn. 🎃🦃🎄
September, October, November and December have traditionally been some of our most exciting months because they bring our Murder Mystery Dinners, Haunted Dinners, Christmas & Holiday Events, and other special gatherings to life for the public.
And as much as it pains us to say it… we won’t be hosting those public events this year. ❤️
This was not an easy decision.
Caring for a historic home like Simmons-Bond Inn is a tremendous labor of love. Maintaining a 100+ year-old property while providing the level of hospitality, comfort and personal attention our overnight guests deserve already takes an enormous amount of time, energy and resources.
After everything we have experienced with our kitchen being out of commission for so long, we anticipate that the remainder of this year will require our full attention to our staying guests and the Inn itself.
Public events are incredibly rewarding—but they also require additional staffing, preparation, food, supplies, cleanup, planning and countless hours behind the scenes. As much as we LOVE creating these experiences for our community and surrounding towns as far as Atlanta, it simply isn’t possible for us to do them well while also giving our overnight guests the experience they deserve.
And there is another very personal reason for this decision.
Bella’s health has declined, and that has changed our priorities. ❤️
Right now, our focus needs to be on taking care of each other, taking care of this historic home, and most importantly, taking exceptional care of the guests who choose to stay with us.
We are incredibly grateful for every person who has attended one of our events over the years. The laughter, the costumes, the incredible meals, the stories, the friendships… those memories mean more to us than you know.
So while we won’t be filling the Inn with public dinners and events this fall and holiday season, we would absolutely LOVE to fill it with overnight guests. 🏡❤️
If you’ve been saying, “We really need to get back to Simmons-Bond Inn,” or “We’ve always wanted to stay there,” this is your sign.
Come slow down.
Come stay awhile.
Come enjoy the history, the charm, the breakfast, the hospitality—and let us take care of you for a change. ❤️
