Many of you may have heard about Mike Whitlock, a devoted father in our community, who is fighting cancer. For those who haven’t, here’s a little about his journey:
At the start of the year, Mike fell ill and was initially treated for common seasonal illnesses. When his condition didn’t improve, further testing revealed a mass on his right lung, leading to a diagnosis of a rare and aggressive cancer called Nut Carcinoma. Mike spent 19 days in the hospital and was given approximately 6-8 months to live. He's only 35 years old ya'll!
After his first round of chemo, Mike’s condition took a turn for the worse, and he was hospitalized again due to severe bleeding, requiring emergency surgery(still currently in the hospital). As the sole provider for his family, and facing the overwhelming costs of treatment, Mike is truly in the fight of his life.
Fundraiser #1: Poles and Holes Construction has generously donated a Loafing Shed (Animal Shelter) valued at $4,500, which will be raffled off!
