Inn Keeper’s Corner 👑 | Showing Up

This week’s Corner took me outside the Inn—and straight into an 80s-themed field day. 😂

But somewhere between the games, the laughter, the people I met, and the people I got to reconnect with, I was reminded of something:
When you build a community of people who show up for you, showing up for them becomes second nature.

Hospitality isn’t always making a bed, serving breakfast, or pouring a cup of coffee.

Sometimes hospitality is buying the ticket.
Sharing the post.
Cheering someone on.
Simply being there.
Because community isn’t something we just find.
It’s something we build.

One of those little things guests probably never think about. ☕️

Before I head upstairs for the night, I get tomorrow morning’s coffee ready and program the machine for 6:00 AM.

By the time the first guest comes downstairs, the house smells like fresh coffee and there’s a pot waiting for them.

Nothing particularly glamorous about this part of innkeeping—but honestly, these are the little details I love.

Hospitality doesn’t always have to be grand. Sometimes it’s just making sure the coffee is ready before anyone has to ask. 👑☕️

This one is about how you feel while you’re here.

A slower morning. Nowhere you have to be. A little extra time under the covers before deciding what the day will become.

That’s the kind of luxury we believe in.

Not complicated. Not rushed.

This week on Inn Keeper’s Corner, we’re looking back at a night that reminded me exactly why community matters. 🤎

Last Friday, The King’s Throne hosted our very first networking event, bringing together local business owners, entrepreneurs, creatives, and community leaders for an evening of connection, conversation, food, and live music.

A huge thank you to Jen of The Mez Mez, Anthony of toledo_lokal , Athena of The PWR Movement | Nutrition Club Toledo Movement, and our friends at Toledo Photography Studio for showing up, sharing your energy, and helping make the evening special.

And when the rain decided to make an appearance, everyone jumped in. We moved the music indoors, kept the evening going, and somehow the unexpected made the night even more memorable. Special thanks to Shelly of Ohio Midwives for helping us make that transition so smoothly.

Of course, we couldn’t have done it without doubletakemusic2926 bringing the music and jens serving up those homemade frozen treats. 🎶🍦

We were also thrilled to have Sheila from The Blade join us for the evening.

To everyone who came out: thank you. This was our first networking event, but definitely not our last.
