Itās not even 7 a.m. in Tombstone⦠and apparently Iām already on someone elseās schedule. š¦
Pulled up to the cabins this morning and got personally greeted by one of our local residents ā a curious little deer, standing there like sheās been managing the property all along and Iām just late for my shift.
No fear. Just quiet observation. Ears forward, eyes soft, taking inventory of me like, āYou again. Coffee first, then business.ā
And hereās the part I love ā this isnāt random. Deer donāt hang out where they donāt feel safe. Their nervous system is wired for survival, not sightseeing. If theyāre grazing, lingering, getting curious⦠it means the environment is predictable, calm, and non-threatening.
That little park area? Itās not just for guests. Itās part of a shared space where wildlife feels regulated enough to stay.
Tombstone may be famous for gunfights⦠but these days, the only early morning standoff happening at our cabins involves a deer and a slightly under-caffeinated human.
And Iāll tell you what ā she won. I backed up first.
Welcome to Katieās Cozy Cabins, where even the wildlife checks in before sunrise. šµ
