The Mary Lou has been a Trail Rider staple since our days down by Molly’s. Ham and house-smoked turkey smothered in mozzarella, grilled onions, sautéed mushrooms, and green chile…. Available on a house-baked hoagie roll or, shown here, on our house-baked focaccia bread. Delish!

Did you know !!

One of the largest apple orchards in New Mexico is at Manzano Mountain Retreat.
• It is considered one of the largest apple producers in the state.
• The orchard grows over 30 varieties of apples, which is the largest variety selection in New Mexico.
• The ranch produces thousands of bushels of apples and thousands of gallons of cider each year.

Why the Manzano area is famous for apples 🍎

The Manzano Mountains historically became one of the best apple-growing regions in New Mexico because:
• High elevation and cool nights improve flavor and sweetness
• Fertile mountain soil
• Large temperature swings between day and night

Spanish settlers recognized this hundreds of years ago and planted some of the first apple trees in the region, which is why the mountains are called “Manzano” (Spanish for apple tree).
