There is sure more to do on the Iron Range than I ever would have thought! Pike Bay Lodge is a great central location to so much. Ely to our East has the North American Bear Center, the National Wolf Center, and several art galleries along with great shopping and restaurants.
Right next door we have Tower/Sudan with the mine tour and the mailboat excursion.
To the West is Hibbing, a beautiful historic town. Did you know they have a Planetarium? I didn’t ….thats next on our list.
Yesterday we went to the MN Discovery Center in Chisholm. It’s the largest MN museum outside of the metro. We were very pleasantly surprised at the size and scope of this cool place. It’s past the busy season so some things were partially shut down but we loved it! They have a trolley ride that we hope to take in the spring.
