For all of you MarJo Motel enthusiasts! Here's another reason to come back and visit us. Mom and Pop Muskie swam under our dock this evening (saw about ten of them today). Fishing is great according to reports I've received. Summer is filling fast so call now.

Reservations are flowing in on a daily basis for fishing opener through fall colors in October. We’re filling up fast. The DNR has also noted that walleye fishing will be excellent this year with a well populated lake and more mature walleyes. We look forward to hosting you and Tower and Minnesota, MarJo, Motel!

The Ranger: Business Energy Retrofit grant improves iconic lodging facility in Tower

Marjo Motel operators, Orlyn and Marit Kringstad, utilized a Business Energy Retrofit (BER) grant to upgrade the electrical system from a 100-amp to a 200-amp system to accommodate modern, energy efficient appliances and charging equipment. The electrical upgrade project included the addition of ground fault interrupter outlets (GFCI) adjacent to the entry of each motel room. The GFCI outlets provides their lodging guests traveling to northeastern Minnesota for outdoor recreation with boats, jet skis, snowmobiles, and ATVs in tow, ability to charge their small engine and vehicle batteries.

We have a great town, beautiful Lake Vermilion, dedicated staff (Sandy & Dennis), terrific landlord (Tom (we lease the MarJo)), and many repeat guests who help to make us successful — and not least, an historic 1950’s vintage property that draws guests to us from far and wide!
