The story behind the popular Elvira’s Cafe - just a few minutes down the road from us in Wears Valley!
Before the porch. Before the red door. Before the Smoky Mountain view — there was a girl from Siberia who came to Sevier County for one summer and never really left. 🤍
Elvira Grant came to America in 2001 as a student — working at Dollywood with 100 other young people from across the world. She was supposed to stay for a summer. But the people here, the mountains, the community — they got to her.
She went back to finish her degree. Then she came back for good.
In 2012, she opened Elvira's Cafe in Wears Valley — built from scratch, with fresh US-sourced ingredients, because she believed in this land and the farmers who work it.
More than a decade later — she's still here. Still cooking. Still showing up every single day for the community she chose to call home.
That's the woman behind your breakfast. 🤍
