June 26 results-White Lake

White Lake was on fire if you were fishing for pickerel, You had to catch 5 pickerel before catching a bass. Day was overcast, slight wind, temperature 70 degrees. Bass were hard to find, no top water bite.
1st place Jon Rosner 10.4 (also 4.4 SMB for lunker)
2nd place Scott Cocioppo 9.2
Big bass jon 4.4 smallie

Next Tournament July 17th Saturday- Swinging Bridge 6am-2pm

Just as a point of information, several years ago Jon Rosner was heard saying "White Lake sucks" and while waiting to pull his boat he catches a 5 pounder and won the tournament (I think).

Subject: Important updates on lakes of interest to tournament anglers - Forgot to mention

My apologies, I forgot to mention that clubs with issued permits for East twin Lake can fish the tournament launching/parking the number of boats/vehicles indicated on their issued permits. For those with submitted permit applications, the 10 boat limit will apply. Thanks.

Good afternoon,

I hope everyone is well. I’d like to provide a few updates concerning tournament sizes and launch use as several lakes that experience use by bass tournaments:

Colebrook River Lake: Regular parking capacity at the boat launch is 24 trailer spots. In addition to submitting a tournament permit application, organizers of tournaments of 16 or less total vehicles (with or without trailers) should continue to contact the Army Corps of Engineer facility Project Manager (John Haluchak, facility: 860-379-8234, direct: 978-318-8439, cell: 860-681-1039, email: [email protected]) concerning use. Organizers of any tournaments wish to park more than 16 total vehicles will need to contact the facility much sooner and should be prepared to apply for a Special Use Permit from the Corps ($75.00 fee I believe).

East Twin Lake: From mid-May (after the second weekend) through mid-September the maximum size for tournaments launching from O’Hara’s Landing Marina on weekends is now 10 boats. For weekday and off-season (before mid-May and after mid-September) weekend tournaments the maximum size remains 20 boats. Please plan accordingly.

Lake McDonough: MDC is not issuing any approvals for fishing tournaments at Lake McDonough for 2021. Also note that new fees are in effect (day use- $20 for residents of local towns and MDC member towns, $40 for residents of other CT towns and residents of other states: season use fees of $60 and $120).

Pachaug Pond: The boat launch at Pachaug Pond is currently expected to be closed starting on September 13 to facilitate dam repairs, a lengthy drawdown and site renovations. It is expected that the launch will be available for use sometime in late spring (likely June), 2022.

Thanks, please contact me if you have any questions.

Have a good weekend!

Bill
