Here are some pictures of the beginnings of Dry Creek which is one of the tributaries of Barren River Lake.
The creek starts directly in front of Chug and Edy's Place here in Tracy.
I spent many, many days playing, hunting, catching frogs and sneaking off smoking ci******es here on the creek when I was growing up.
This area is also where two of my uncles were killed making head gas or drip gas back in the thirties. It was Uncle Boyd and Uncle Floyd.
The creek is rolling due to the rains today.
The big flat rocks that are set vertical in the hill, in the second picture, below the big beech tree which has my initials carved on it along with several of my uncles and cousins from as far back as 1933, are where they put milk, cream and whatever they wanted to keep cool. I dont remember this , but some of my cousins told me they did. The hole has filled in over the years.

If you or someone you know would like to enjoy the country life for a weekend or longer let me know and I will hook you up. You wouldn't have to make a bed in the garden, but you could if you wanted to, as long as you didn't hurt the plants.

The Milk and Wine Lilies are in full bloom at Chug and Edy's! This is a really old plant. I'm guessing at least 50 years...
