We love all things freshwater nautical and vintage with a bit of whimsy. ✨ The innkeeper’s cottage is one of the oldest buildings here at the Anchor Inn and it’s where one of the two original families lived. It's all c***r and donuts up north right now! Autumn is a time of activity in Leelanau County. Truck loads of apples and grapes are rolling down the back roads. Locals are soaking up these perfect days on the trails of Sleeping Bear Dunes. We're loving it 🩵

Autumn Life 🍂 we love this season in Northern Michigan! Everything feels so clean and cozy.
Come enjoy our favorite season! We just had the Innkeepers Cottage open up for the weekend of Oct 16-18th and on Halloween weekend.

The first picture was taken from an easy to miss hidden gem. The 45th Parallel park is just north of Suttons Bay on M22, about 15mins north of the Anchor Inn. We love that little beach with parking for about three cars.

In 2026, we hosted more wedding weekends than ever before! (and our first corporate retreat) We're taking bookings all the way to 2028.

Couples chose the Anchor Inn as their private basecamp while celebrating at premier local venues across the region —including The Foxglove Farm, Bay View Weddings at Gallagher Farms, Cherry Basket Farm, and Aurora Cellars. Two couples skipped the traditional venue entirely and held an intimate ceremony and reception right here on our grounds.

Whether your vows happen down the road or on our 3 acres of private grounds & beach, booking a wedding at the Anchor Inn means the entire property belongs exclusively to you!

A wedding buyout at the Anchor Inn turns a standard hotel room block into a cohesive, private weekend retreat.

We regularly host welcome parties, rehearsal dinners, post-reception after-parties, and send-off brunches on the lawn or under a tent.

This summer, our grounds hosted incredible private chefs, local food trucks, mixologists and Mundos Roasting & Co. mobile coffee bar serving signature lattes to guests steps from their cottage doors.

Sleep Up to 52 Guests: Full buyouts secure all cottages and the Lake House, keeping your wedding party and immediate families together in one spot.

We hosted 13 incredible weddings in 2026, and 11 wedding weekends are already booked for 2027!

If you're staying at the Anchor Inn we suggest you get out on the water! ⚓ 🌊 The most beautiful sailboat in Traverse City is the Althea and Capt Brett can make your voyage really memorable 🩵 check out Classic Yacht Althea, less than a mile from the Anchor Inn

There are so many ways to get on the water! Take out our kayaks, book a fishing charter or join a sailing on one of the tall ships moored at Discovery Pier. Traverse City has such a rich maritime history, so think about booking something during your next visit ⛵

No. 7 looked A LOT different when we purchased the Anchor Inn and set out on a crazy journey to preserve this beautiful place. This before and after makes us smile.

During our first rounds of renovations we made big changes - no double beds, new flooring, sofa and king bed. But a year and a half ago we completely remodeled the space reconfiguring the bathroom, new windows, furniture, decorations and all focused on timeless lake-cottage design.

We invited Emma Quinn to photograph the space and we're loving the result.

The metal things on the wall are antique floats that were used in commercial finishing nets on the Great Lakes.

BEFORE & AFTER here's a proper reveal of our new sign! It was finished right before winter set in, but we haven't officially shared the big change! Our design came out beautifully, and it's all thanks to Gary, the man behind the brush, at LANGSDALE Signs & Services. Be prepared to see Gary's work throughout Leelanau County and Traverse City as he carries the torch as the unofficial sign painter of the region. This is a massive hand painted sign and meant to stand the test of time and tide. We hope the sign is as timeless as the Anchor Inn itself.

Finally captured new photos of Cottage 6. We completely renovated the bathroom this winter and haven't shared the result! Emma Quinn stayed a couple months ago and sent us loads of these beautiful pictures.
We're loving six and hope you do too! ❤️

Meet the Author / Book Signing event this Friday! Tylee Shay will be stopping by Anchor Inn on her book tour around Michigan. She will be here from 3 - 4pm on Friday, June 26th to meet and sign copies of "Life on the Lake". We will also have copies available to purchase in the Anchor Inn office.

Many photos throughout the book feature the Anchor Inn and like in the 2nd photo, you'll be able to spot these scenes around the property.
