The countdown to the end of the season here at Brio Beach Inn is on, but it’s not over ’til it’s over! 🍂

October is one of our favorite times here in Traverse City. The fall color is phenomenal, the w**eries are celebrating harvest season, and the weather is perfect to get out and enjoy.

🍷 Spend an afternoon on Old Mission Peninsula. Be sure to stop and try some of the local w**es at Mari Vineyards, Chateau Chantal Winery, or Brys Estate Vineyard & Winery.

🚐 Want to tour the w**eries and let someone else drive? Brew Bus offers w**ery, brewery and distillery tours, so you can enjoy the day and leave the driving to them.

🚲 Try something completely different with Wheels on Rails. Hop on a four-person rail bike and pedal along an old railroad track through the woods just south of Traverse City. Choose from a 3- or 6-mile ride—and pedal-assist bikes are available, too.

🍁 Take the scenic route. Drive M-22 through Leelanau, head up Old Mission Peninsula, or just follow the fall color and see where the day takes you.

🚁 Want a really different view? 45 North Aviation offers luxury helicopter tours over the Traverse City area—imagine seeing all that October color from above?!?!?

🍽️ And when you're hungry, be sure to find a table with a view at Aerie, Boathouse Traverse City, or West End Tavern TC.

Then come back to Brio, grab a chair by the water and enjoy one more fall evening on the bay.

September in Northern Michigan looks a little something like this… 🍎🍷

Pick apples right off the tree at Rennie Orchards. Stop at Gallagher's Farm Market for fresh c***r and one of their pumpkin donuts. Or make the drive north to Friske Farm Market for an afternoon at the farm.

Then there's w**e country. September is harvest season, and it's a great excuse to spend an afternoon on Old Mission or Leelanau Peninsula. A few of our favorites? Mari Vineyards, Chateau Chantal Winery, and Rove Winery at the Gallagher Estate —where you'll find one of the best views around from the highest point on the Leelanau Peninsula.

And if you love finding something locally made, September has plenty of that too. Browse the Elk Rapids Arts & Crafts Show, spend a weekend at the Downtown Traverse City Art Fair, or head north for Leelanau UnCaged in Northport on September 26 for art, food, and live music throughout downtown.

Pick a weekend. Stay a couple of nights. There's plenty to fill them.
