"It takes strength to live inside these times
It takes strength to live with the vice grip of Empire wedged around your heart and lungs
It takes strength to move through this world with a heart that is broken open by all that it perceives, and understands deeply how each atrocity is linked inextricably to the next
And yet that is the work
That is the thing for which we are training, as they might say.
Stand there in the center of the fire. Heave your arms above your chest. Do one thing today that yesterday was just beyond your capacity, your comfort zone, your finite reach. Lift something heavy.
Then do it again.
Rest.
With every deep breath summoned, remember grief lives in the lungs, and how it has been said that grief itself is Love that has nowhere to go.
Give it somewhere to go. Something. Ten percent. More.
Place it on the altar. And invite someone else to do the same.
Weep. Repeat. Do not look away.
Allow yourself to grow into one of the ones that we’ve been waiting for.
Resistance and Resilience fortified by a similar fire.
Know that your true work begins once your feet leave the safety of this slick and tiny artificial temple. Once the weight is no longer clearly marked, and the reps come in infinite waves, not simple sets of 10-12.
It takes strength to live inside this world - and you’ve found one way to conjure it.
Now go and lend it to another. Spread the gift around. Allow someone to be moved by your heartbreak. And warmed by your fire."
And contemplations on the ten percent...
