MEET THE INNKEEPER — PART 2

Jeanne Butler, Owner & Host of Tarabino Inn

Every inn has one room with a story the brochure doesn't tell. Which room is it here?

For me, it’s the library.

The library is named in honor of my late husband, Dr. Richard “Rick” Miller. We were married for 27 years, and Rick was a professor and social psychologist who devoted his life to teaching, his students, and learning.

He was named U.S. Professor of the Year by the Carnegie Foundation, but what I remember most is his tremendous curiosity about the world—and his love of books, ideas, art, and people.

Rick was also an artist, and several of his music-themed works now hang in the library.

When I came to Tarabino Inn, I wanted there to be a place that carried some of that life forward.

The library is that place.

It honors Rick and the things he loved, while bringing a very personal part of my own story into the Inn.

🎹 Celebrate Trinidad’s 150th Anniversary with Main Street Trinidad! 🇺🇸

If you’re planning a visit to Trinidad this fall, here’s a special event to add to your calendar.

On Sunday, October 18 at 2:00 p.m., pianist Scott Kirby brings a special version of his multimedia show to Main Street Live in downtown Trinidad.

🎶 The program celebrates 150 years of American music—including ragtime, blues, boogie woogie and jazz—along with original artwork and a video exploring our shared small-town heritage.

And especially for Trinidad, the program will include custom chapters about Trinidad’s history, stories and storytellers.

It sounds like a wonderful way to experience the character and history of our community through music. ❤️
