Wildfire preparedness starts with our community and Las Animas County needs your voice.
The County is developing its 2026 Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) to help reduce wildfire risk and protect our homes, families, and neighborhoods. Join us at one of our upcoming FREE public open houses to learn about the plan, share your feedback, connect with first responders and land managers, and discover practical resources you can use to prepare your home and family for wildfire.

The draft Community Wildfire Protection Plan will be available for public review August 5β19. During that time, you can review the draft plan and submit comments online. You can also complete the community survey now.
