It’s pickin’ time!!! 🫐🌿🙌 Trout Creek is the Huckleberry capital of Montana! If you like huckleberries (who doesn’t?!), check out the 43rd Annual Huckleberry Festival August 12th and 13th in the park at Trout Creek! An arts and crafts fair, 5k fun run, parade, horseshoe tourney, pancake breakfast, live entertainment, pie-eating contest and much more!

A “Trash” fish is still fun to catch…especially when it’s an absolute hog! Grant fished hard for several days with his family while staying at TOBC. It was pretty slow fishing until he hooked in to this 27” (estimated 5-6lbs) Northern Pike Minnow from his kayak! Just shy of the Montana state record…way to go Grant!

In almost 30 years of owning property at TOBC, I’ve only seen 2 moose (both way up on the mountain) until 2 days ago. Started my morning walk and made it out to the main road when I saw this young moose, upon seeing me it ran down off the road towards the cabins. I ran through the woods to cut it off and took this video. What a treat.

Just spent 10 days at TOBC. The elk were here for the first few days, Marcia and I did a hike to one of our local lakes, I caught 2 cuts and 3 rainbow, the biggest being a 16” cut with the rest being 12 to 14”. Marcia got a nice batch of huckleberrys. Ended it today with a boat ride all the way to Thompson Falls and got a good look at the Graves Cr. fire. Come on RAIN!!!!!
