Cave Creek Farm

There’s a cave within walking distance of the farm, and it holds a little piece of Trout Lake history.

Part of a lava tube stretching more than 2,000 feet underground, the cave’s naturally cool temperatures made it useful to early settlers for storing potatoes and, later, aging cheese. Explore far enough inside, and you can still find remnants of the old wooden shelves.

Over the years, local families gathered there for picnics and brought visitors to explore it. We love learning these stories and discovering the many ways this valley's history still connects to the community today. And it’s still there to explore, just a short walk from the farm.

Wander the fields, breathe in the mountain air, or head out and explore. Follow your curiosity, or do nothing at all. Come experience it for yourself.

A last-minute getaway doesn’t have to mean a lot of planning.

We provide essentials like linens and towels, plenty of fresh drinking water, and your morning French press coffee. Trout Lake’s general store is just a few minutes away for groceries or grab-and-go options, and Trout Lake Hall and Mt. Adams Pizza are nearby for a meal out.

Pack a few things, head to the farm, and settle in.

Late summer is one of our favorite times here. The nights are cool, and the days are warm.

There’s still time to get out on the White Salmon River before the summer rafting season winds down, too.

And September brings one of the area’s longtime traditions: the Huckleberry Festival in Bingen, September 11–13, with live music, a parade, local vendors and, of course, plenty of huckleberries.

Spend the day exploring, rafting or enjoying one of the many trails around Mt. Adams, then come back to the farm and slow down for the evening.

Labor Day weekend is a chance to stretch summer just a little longer. Slow mornings, time outside, stars overhead, and room to simply be together.

The Perseid meteor shower is lighting up the August sky, and there are few better places to watch than under the dark, open skies of Cave Creek Farm.

Known for their swift, bright meteors and occasional fireballs, the Perseids are one of the most anticipated meteor showers of the year. Away from the city lights, all you need is a clear night, a blanket and a little time to look up.

We have a few farm stays still available this weekend. Come spend a summer night under the stars.

Cave Creek Farm captured our hearts the very first time we walked its fields, listened to the creek, and watched the sunset over Mount Adams.

Justin spent more than twenty years serving communities through leadership in parks, recreation, and local government. Anne has dedicated years to helping people reconnect with themselves through movement, healing, herbs, and mindful living.

Today, we're caring for Cave Creek Farm as its stewards, with the hope that everyone who visits leaves feeling more connected to nature, to others, and themselves.
