We aren't mad about it... we are ready for sled season!!!!

Dusting off the snowfall map for the 2026-27 winter season. Our first snowfall map of the year denotes light flurries across parts of the Upper Peninsula and northern Lower Peninsula Friday into Saturday, October 16th-17th, 2026.

For those NOT on board with snow, here's the good news. These flurries will likely melt quick on contact. As north winds kick in Friday evening, colder air rushes in from the north. Besides light flurries, the precipitation type known as graupel is also a possibility. Those are the little dip-n-dots shaped ice pellets that are quite soft in nature. Precipitation will be letting up by late morning on Saturday.

Don't forget, it will be windy during this period. Bundle up accordingly over the next 24-36 hours.
