Need a break from the summer heat? A lazy river float is one of our favorite ways to cool off.

It’s one of those Tahoe experiences that never gets old. Grab a tube, gather a few friends, and spend the afternoon drifting through the cool, clear water surrounded by the Sierra.

We know the lake gets all the attention, but the hiking around Tahoe and Truckee is just as unforgettable.

Wildflower meadows, granite peaks, alpine views, and fresh mountain air… every trail has something different to offer.

Pro tip: Start early, beat the afternoon heat, and reward yourself with a lake dip afterward. Trust us on that one.

This adventure was the Sugar Bowl → Palisades hike, and it’s one we’ll be thinking about for a while.
