It has taken a number of days to process our loss privately, and now we feel it’s time to share it with you all. 🌈💔
Marshall has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. We were blessed beyond belief to have him for 12 of his 13 years.
During our first 6 years together, we showed him adventures like no other. Hundreds of miles as our canoe buddy on rivers and lakes, hikes, and tennis balls were his life – he was always ready for fun!
In the next 6 years, he transitioned to life in New Mexico as the BSM greeter and welcomed thousands of guests and travelers. Often, he was a surrogate to those missing their own dogs at home, receiving pets or a hug. He was amazing with kids piled on the floor patting him, and was always the very best boy to everyone he met.
While we privately grieve his immense loss and our hearts are shattered, we also have to remember that he touched your lives, too. Thank you for loving him, for spoiling him with treats, dinner scraps, and toys, and for making him a part of your Route 66 journey. If you have pictures of Marshall that you took while you were visiting, we’d love to see them. And, be sure to hug your doggies a little tighter tonight.
