This August we are taking time to celebrate 25 years of Quil Ceda Village.

On August 8, 2026, past and present Tribal leaders and staff members who played an integral role in the creation, development, and continued success of Quil Ceda Village gathered with friends and family to commemorate 25 years since its incorporation as a federally recognized city.

The milestone provided an opportunity to reflect on how it all began, how far Quil Ceda Village has come, and the many leaders and staff members whose dedication, vision, and contributions helped shape its success. Attendees shared stories and memories highlighting the perseverance, commitment, and leadership that have guided the Village throughout its history.

Tulalip Tribes Board of Directors Vice Chairwoman and Quil Ceda Village Chairwoman Deborah Parker reflected on the significance of that legacy:

“Many of the roads, utilities, businesses, jobs, and revenues we see today exist because previous leaders invested decades of effort into building the foundation we now benefit from. Those leaders were thinking not about the next year, but about the next generation.”

Today, Quil Ceda Village is recognized as a model for Native American economic and community development around the world.

As part of the anniversary celebration, a road sign was unveiled in honor of the late Stanley Jones Sr. (Scho-Hallem). The sign will be reinstalled in the future in Quil Ceda Village, where it will become part of Scho-Hallem Way, serving as a lasting tribute to his legacy and the many contributions he made to the Village and the community.

The 25th anniversary celebration continues on Saturday, August 22, as we give back to the community with a Family Fun Night at the Tulalip Amphitheatre.

The community is invited to join us beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Everything fun is free!!
🎯 Carnival games
🏰 Bouncy houses
🎨 Face painters
🍿 Free popcorn and cotton candy 🍬
And more!

Food trucks will be on-site with food and beverages available for purchase.

Bring your blankets or low-profile chairs and enjoy an evening together on the lawn. As the sun goes down, we will wrap up the celebration with a special showing of the classic animated film Shrek, released 25 years ago. The movie will be shown at sundown on a 30-foot movie screen.

We look forward to celebrating this special milestone with our community and honoring the people, vision, and accomplishments that have helped make Quil Ceda Village what it is today.

Come celebrate 25 years with us!
