Over the weekend our team was proud to wear green in support of Go Green for Greenwood as we remembered the lives lost, the businesses destroyed, and the lasting impact of the Tulsa Race Massacre 105 years ago.
As a downtown Tulsa hotel just minutes away from Greenwood, we know how important it is to honor the history of our community — not just the parts that are easy to talk about, but the parts that shaped Tulsa in profound ways. We remember Greenwood’s strength, resilience, and continued legacy today and every day. 💚
Today marks 105 years since the Tulsa Race Massacre—one of the most violent and horrific acts of racial violence in American history—destroying Black Wall Street and the Greenwood District neighborhood by burning homes and businesses and killing Black Tulsans. We honor and remember the lives lost and communities destroyed on May 31, 1921, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
And we can never forget, even when our state’s history makes us uncomfortable. On this day, we are reminded of why knowing the truth and telling the truth are important for all of us to move forward. We honor those whose resiliency and vision have never wavered to ensure a thriving Greenwood District neighborhood today.
