Our Story

Welcome to Shaheen’s Adirondack Inn. We’re glad you have chosen to stop by; hopefully we will get to meet you in person as one of our guests! Terry and I (Robyn) have been the proprietor’s of the Inn since July 1995. The Adirondack’s lured us in with it’s natural beauty, close knit family towns and villages, and a lifestyle choice we were looking for. We relocated our family to Tupper Lake from St. Joseph, Michigan and became self employed for the very first time. Growing up in Central New York, it felt great to be back close to family and friends.

Historically Shaheen’s boasts a long history of providing excellent accommodations and “hometown hospitality” to the traveling public. It has always been a family owned establishment since it’s inception. Within a short time we began our journey of meticulously upgrading the property each year. We strive to meet the current high standards and comfort our guests have come to expect.

In 2009 Shaheen’s was chosen as one of 43 hotels in all of New York State to be evaluated and certified as “green” for employing environmentally friendly and sustainable practices. We have each year grown in our environmental initiatives to protect the awesome Adirondack’s we call home.

Over the years, we had tried to measure the success of our endeavors in many ways, however, it was through the suggestions of our guests that we found it. Diligently working to improve our facilities was a huge focus for us, but of course customer satisfaction was always our first priority. Many of our guests told us they felt so comfortable, were treated so warmly, and always felt like they were coming back home when they stayed with us. “You are like a welcoming inn” was the repeated comment. That’s what it’s all about! On January 1, 2017 it felt positive to legally change the name from “Shaheen’s Motel” to “Shaheen’s Adirondack Inn”. Another corner turned in our path forward.
