After breakfast, I chatted with the host, who asked about my trip. He was curious to know how I found his bed and breakfast. I shared that it came up on Google Maps and was the only place to stay in the vicinity.

I told him about not finding a museum about the Tuskegee Airmen. He looked surprised and said the museum was at the airfield I had visited. I was dismayed that there were no signs to tell a visitor that there was a museum there. Or maybe I was too lazy to explore.

When he saw my crestfallen look, he fished out two brochures and handed them to me. I promised him that I would be sure to spend time at the museum next time.

These brochures are a collector's item, not only for their content but for the intent with which they were gifted. ❤️

While just a short distance down the road is Greyhound Racing and a casino type atmosphere located at “Victoryland” in Shorter, Alabama.
