Beautiful, ageless, paying tribute to the rock climbers at Joshua Tree National Park. These sculptures make a wonderful statement at the entrance to the Old Schoolhouse Museum.

Dedicated to rock climbers who love to visit and climb in Joshua Tree National Park, this wonderful public art installation is by Steve Rieman. It is located at the Old Schoolhouse Museum near the park visitor center here in 29 Palms. The museum is closed and undergoing some major renovations to its exhibits, but the gift shop is still open from 1pm-4pm, Friday through Sunday.

Hot, yes, but that is what separates our desert and makes it such a wonderland to live in. The sunrises, sunsets, rough mountain areas allow us memories like no other.

Excessive HEAT warning!!

The desert is known for its extreme weather patterns, from bone chilling cold to mind blowing heat. This weekend promises to be one of the hottest so far this year.

Please remember that this kind of heat kills!! Enjoy hiking trails in the early morning or evenings only. Take plenty of water, even if you don't feel hot when you are setting out, and when you water is halfway gone, turn around. Wear sun protection, and please stay on marked trails!

We love our visitors, and want you to be around for many years to come.

Thanks to for the amazing photo!
