Owasippe Camp Reneker

Over the past 24 hours the Air Quality Index at Camp Betz and Owasippe Scout Reservation has declined due to smoke from Canadian Wildfires. Conditions are forecast to improve throughout the day and clear up before the weekend.

A designated staff member continues to monitor air quality through national resources and the real-time monitor on site at Owasippe. To view real-time data from this weather station, you can visit: https://www.iqair.com/air-quality/usa/michigan/muskegon/owasippe-scout-reservation
Additionally, staff remain in communication with the local health agencies and neighboring camps on steps to ensure the safety of all campers.

Some activities have been modified to reduce strenuous outdoor activity until conditions improve. At this time, minimal medical care has been requested in association with pollution.
Individuals who may be at risk of health complications due to air quality should visit their camp office for more information on preventive measures that can be taken to increase safety.

We are in search of recycled and donated materials - help us make your trash our treasure!

At Reneker, we enjoy doing lots of crafts and we prefer to reduce, reuse, and recycle materials for our programs in an effort to be eco-conscious. We are hoping that you have some of these items and would be willing to bring them to your camping week for use in programs!

Additionally, we are always making an effort to improve our amenities and want to still make an effort to reduce and reuse- so if you have anything collecting dust we would much appreciate giving them a new home.
