This is an approximate 7 1/2" by 9 1/2" photograph of a horse drawn wagon beginning the climb on the 10th NH Hwy to Crawford Notch. The photo is attributed to Walter Merryman the photographer at the newly opened Mount Washington Hotel. Early 1900's.

Fall is in the air up here in the mountains. Before we know it the colors will be here! We are pretty booked up until the 3rd week in October but it's not to early to think about your winter adventures. Whether it's going to Santa's Village, finding that perfect Christmas tree at the Rocks, fall hiking with no crowds or bugs or just enjoying the mountains, don't wait and miss out!

Some of our past tourism history. Our area has always been a destination!

Another large hotel from the past, The White Mountain House. This hotel sat by Old Cherry Mountain Road and NH Highway #10, now known as Rt. 302. It is now approximately where Mount Deception Campground sits. It was reported that President and former General Ulysses S. Grant stayed there when he toured the state and rode the Railway to the Moon.

Twin Mt back in the day!

Street scene coming into Twin Mountain taken probably in the early 1960's On the left is Ricardi's Restaurant and Motel. Established about 1940 by Charlie and Agnes Ricardi. Across the street was Paquette's owned by Marcel Paquette. Further down was Asker's Restaurant and miniature golf owned by John and Edith Asker.
