On the ground floor the studio has a private porch that looks out over the turtle pond, protected dunes & wetlands and private walkway. Private boardwalk to beach and turtle pond. See all the ships, shrimp boats come in and out. Best place on island to dolphin watch along with the incredible sunsets.

Our Beak of the Week belongs to... a Laughing Gull!

I'll admit, gulls are tricky (and not just their beak IDs... hello, plumage variations!). And just like their feathers, Laughing Gull bills also change colors depending on the season.

The bill is bright red during the summer breeding season, and solid black or black-grey during the winter non-breeding season.

No matter the color, this bill is great for eating small fish, crustaceans, insects, or your beach picnic when you're not looking.
